The Miramar Air Show & The Blue Angels

We decided to spend a couple of hours at the Miramar Airshow today. We are so glad we did. There were a lot of neat planes and people to see. Here are some of what you missed if you weren't there...

Rob was so happy to see The Blue Angels. The last time we made it down here to the air show was seven years ago. Madison was a baby and not enjoying herself to much so we ended up leaving right before The Blue Angels flew. I remeber Rob was so sad...it wouldn't have been so bad, except that they started flying as we were on our way back to the car. Well, he got to enjoy the whole Blue Angel performance this time and the kids loved it too!

Here are a few of the men that are serving our wonderful country!

Here is a nice looking Service man for all of you single girls to take a look at. I have a feeling he is a bit into himself, but that's okay, he's cute!

This picture was for Rob...he hates feet! I, on the other hand, thought this women's feet were adorable!

Check out my cutie pies!

Cheese!

And, what would a huge event like this be like without a ton of stinky porta-potties and a ton of trash?

Here is the most complex plain I saw at the show, it flip and turned and did all kinds of things...without even having a pilot flying it!

Some more cuties I found at the show!

The three Stooges!

No, the picture is not upside down, the writing is upside down on the airplane!

My little pilot!

Okay, well it's late and I have nothing more to say...except...Aaaaaahh (that was abig fat yawn)!

Thanks for stopping by!

Clouds

If it's this beautiful here...Heaven must be amazing!

This is just the sunset from my backyard over the rooftops. I was suppose to be getting ready for school on Tuesday evening, but I just had to get some pictures of this. The clouds have been amazing ever since the Hurricane in Texas.

Anyway, last night was my first night at The Picture People. I didn't get to play yet, probably not for another week. I started my training, which was four hours of reading. Mostly legal stuff and safety stuff. I start my photography training tomorrow. It too, will be a four hour reading session, but all about portrait photography. I can't wait! I'm going to get paid to read about stuff I like to read about...Nice!

Well, I hope everyone has an amazing day! Thanks for visiting!

Just A Day At the Park

Lyndsey and I decided to take the kids to the park after school today. They all were so excited to play together in the sand and water, but they got filthy and the mom's got tired!!!

Here is Madi getting her hair wet

Izzy's taking one of many trips down the slide

Mick's showing off her new gappy smile...where did that tooth go???

Okay, and I know it's sideways...I still have no idea why this blog changes my pictures around. Anyway, Madison is cooling down on the water turtle while she soaks up some rays.

And the Con-man is also taking one of his many trips down the big slide

Sophie the little Angel is sitting sweetly, like always...It's so not fair that she's this well behaved!

Here's Mama Lyndsey and Sophie-Girl. Say Cheese!

Is that Nanny McPhea, or does someone have another loose tooth? Hum?

What a Big Girl Isabella is on this big play structure!

And the here is the Cool Little Man strutting his stuff...He's so proud!

Thanks for Stopping by!

I hope you had as much fun as we did today!

Congratulations!

Congratualtions to the newly weds Debbie and Mike! We're so happy for the two of you! Hope you had a wonderful weekend, I wish we could have been there!

Night Lights of Temecula

Yet another homework assignment. I waited until the last minute so I had very little options. This is Old Town Temecula at about 9pm tonight, Sunday night. It sure was pretty, except for the drunk guy that I had to worry about stealling my camera. Let's just say, I'm glad that I drug Rob along with me. He was allright, but you just never know.

Here I was just having fun...

I'm so glad I was able to get some picture taking in this weekend. I also did some gluing on the kayak. I must say it was a very relaxed weekend.
Thanks for visiting today!

Kayak Building Has Re-Commenced!

I finally got back to building my kayak. I started it about three years ago. For my birthday, my sister took me kayaking in La Jolla cove. I fell in love with the experience and decided I had to have a kayak of my own, so I started saving my spare change. When my money was almost all saved up, a good friend of mine convinced me that building a kayak was way more rewarding than just buying a pre-made plastic version. So, that's what I did.
~
The box came and I got started right away, glueing my strips of wood together. In the first few weeks or so, I started having problems with my gallbladder and couldn't bend over to work on my project without excrutiating pain...so I took a break from my project. I had my gallbladder removed almost a year ago, but I'm just now back to working on my project...All thanks to my sweetie who built me a work bench so I wouldn't have to bend over in the cramped garage.
Look how far I've come in just two days. I went from a flat stack of what Rob called "Fire Wood" to a beautiful hull. It's now starting to look like something. I had a slight delay tonight because my epoxy pump needed some soaking before it would work...so tomorrow I'll start the glueing process again. I better get moving before the rains come. I'm having a blast. I can't wait until it's all done.

My Least Favorite Homework Assignment...YUCK!

Okay, this is me!
One of my projects was to take a self portrait. I absolutely hate pictures of myself, so I really dreaded doing this project. I still have to take another two self portraits for this same assignment, but one at a time is about all I can handle.

I should have put on some lipstick. Oh well, I was on my way to the gym and had only a few minutes to get this project started. One down two to go! Until I decide to re-do this one.
Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I'll have a more interesting subject to post. Sorry, it's just all about me today :)

Practice ~ Practice ~ Practice

Today my mama and I went out to practice our picture taking abilities, and maybe even get some of our homework completed. So, we headed down to the duck pond with Juanita to play. For some reason, once I got there I wasn't feeling inspired. That didn't stop me from snapping away. I still was having a blast, but I wasn't feeling all that creative. It turns out, I got some great pictures out of the evening anyway.

My baby brother, who I should mention is extremely shy (not at all like me), hates to get his picture taken. I snapped this one at dinner before he could hide. Isn't he cute!

Juanita, much more like me on the other hand, hammed it up. Whaaa-Whooo! Foxy Lady!

As for the ducks, well, they were ducks. Quack, quack, quack, waddle, waddle waddle. I wasn't to inspired. I love these little creatures, but I have a lot of duck pictures from the zoo and other places I've been lately. Like I said, I just wasn't feeling it tonight. But I did get this great picture. It just makes me smile :) I love those little webbed feet. And the little feather hanging on to her ankle makes me smile even more. I wish my feet were this cute!
Anyway, we had a great time! A fantastic end to a perfect day!
By the way, I don't start at The Picture People until the week of the 28th, so all of you locals...Lyndsey, Mindy, Mommy, I'm talking to you! I need to practice!!! I want to get as much in before I start on paying customers :) Please come play with me!!!! Please!
Okay, that's enough begging. Thanks for stopping by!

Wow, I Think This Guy's on Steroids!

I know these angles are a little funky, but I had to share this little creature anyway.

Last night my mom and I had our photography class. When I got home I was still all amped up on fun, so I decided to do a little homework to unwind a bit. Funny thing is I promised myself I'd get to bed at a fairly reasonable time but, at about 1am I heard this loud bug flapping around behind me. See what I'd have missed if I went to bed! The noise actually scared me. It was so loud, I thought whatever it was, was inside my house. Then I saw it! He was HUGE! Like a small bird stuck to the outside of my window screen. His wing span was about 5-6 inches from tip to tip. Holy Moly that's one big bug! Of course, I HAD to get his picture. So I rushed outside and snapped a couple of shots off. It was dark, so I was amazed I got what I got. Plus he was a bit above my head, hanging upside down. Not to mention that everytime the flash would fire that guy would flap and fly around and scare the biggibies out of me. I'm telling you...He was HUGE!!! He'd scare you too! Anyway, isn't he an amazing creature. I think God must be a very talented artist. Just look at those colors...WOW! I get what all the dragonfly fuss is all about. So, I just had to share. I must say, for this reason, I'm happy that I'm deliriously tired tonight. He was worth it!

Okay, enough jabbering on my end. I better get to bed and catch up on my sleep...or maybe I'll play a little while longer...I love Schoolwork! Yeah, I think I'll take some pictures. I do need to get some practice for my new job :)

Thanks for stopping in today!

I Got a Second Job...Just for Fun!

Guess who's now a photographer...ME :)

I can't believe that I'm actually going to get paid for something as fun as taking pictures! Wahoo!
I just got hired as a photographer for The Picture People. I can hardly wait to start. All of you that visit the Temecula area will need to come and let me take your picture. It'll be fun! Anyway, I probably will have a lot less time for blogging with my two jobs, school, kids and hunky-hunky Rob...not to mention I resumed the construction of my kayak. I don't think I know how to be bored, and I'm probably not going to learn anytime soon!

These were just some fun shots I took of Madi in the back yard. I had to do a project, taking a picture of an all black subject, so we took advantage and got some extra pictures in the process. You can see my all black picture on my Mastering Photography blog. It turned out cute too.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Just Couldn't Resist Posting this Cutie Pie!

I've never seen a brown Praying Mantis until today. I have a well trained hubby, who calls me out for any great bugs that I can take pictures of. He knows how much I love little creatures. Isn't this little bug so adorable!

Starting A New Blog...Like I have A Lot of Spare Time!

Check out my new blog topic...

I haven't actually posted yet, but I will! I intend on passing on everything I learn as I go. And maybe add some things I have already mastered in the past. I'm having a great time in my very first photo class...I guess I'm just a little excited! I hope that all of you can learn a thing or two with me...and maybe you can teach me a thing or two as well! I have much to learn!!! I look forward to your coments and imput. It'll be fun! Come visit me every once in a while, okay!?!

A Fantastic Quote!

Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile. ~ Mother Teresa
Makayla
I have so many people in my life that always make me feel better and happier once I've been around them...All of whom remind me of how blessed I am!
This little girl is one of them! She lives by this quote, whether she knows it or not! She is a very caring young lady and I'm sure her mommy and daddy are very proud of her! I know I am!
