Well, tonight was kind of a crapy one, or at least it started out to be. Rob and I have been struggling with our bills for a while. I guess we've had way too much fun the past couple of years and now we're paying for it! Not to mention that last year I decided I needed to be home more for my kids, especially my daughter who was struggling with school. When I cut my hours almost in half, the paycheck just plain ol' became worthless! Anyway, we realized that the main problem was that we hadn't cut our spending at all. So, about three weeks ago, we cut up all of our credit cards and tried to cut way back on our spending. It feels good to take charge of our little problem, but we've realize how much we depended on those nasty plastic cards to survive.

Earlier tonight I was working on a debt reduction plan and just felt hopeless...how in the world did we do this to ourselves. And how are we going to get ourselves out of this mess? Well, I guess if we can get ourselves here we can get ourselves out. The crapy part of all of this is that I desperately wanted...needed this camera! Ok, not needed...just really wanted! I know that I can't just go out and buy anything, whenever I want (especially without the use of plastic) but I was planning on at least saving my money and getting the camera by the end of the year.

Tonight reality set in. I wasn't going to get this baby for a really long time...maybe even years :( There's no extra money to save for a camera. Every cent needs to go to paying off our debt right now. I just don't want to owe anyone! So tough poopie, I'll just have to wait!

Well, my hubby got this beautiful piece of luxury for me for my birthday. It was an early present, but I will get to enjoy it all month...and all next month and all the month after that. The camera wasn't the best part about this either. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE LOVE LOVE the camera!!! But Rob, he's the BEST part! I told him to please not spend too much on me this year. We really need to save instead. He listened, but I was expecting a card and maybe some chocolate. That would have been great. He spoils me all the time (partly the reason for our current debt). There was no need to worry about a huge gift this year.

Anyway, he didn't spend a dime... technically. A few months back he won a 50" plasma, flat screen TV from his new business (because of his hard work, he had better odds of winning and did. You should know he deserved that prize). Anyway, he loved that baby and brought everyone to the garage to see it (still in it's box). He was so proud of his big win. He kept saying "the Packers are going to look great this season"! Anyway, he returned the TV to buy this camera for me. And if that's not generous enough, he also dug into his piggybank (Corvette fund) to cover the rest of the money. I don't think there are many people out there that are this generous. He really is a great man! I LOVE HIM!

Camera or no camera, a man that is willing to sacrafice for his wife and family all the time, without regret, is what makes my life so perfect. I love him more than anything! And, I thank God everyday for creating such a perfect man!

Thanks again God!
And Thanks again for my present my Sweet Tushie Tushie Love Bisquet!

Congrats on the new camera. I love this Canon D30 that I am using. When I went to Ohio with my husband a couple of weeks ago, I had to take my little Kodak EasyShare. I have learned to hate that camera! I missed most of my shots because it has such a short zoom and it has a time delay. You might click the shutter at the right time, but it doesn't capture until a few seconds after! Talk about useless. I hope somebody working for Kodak sees this post! LOL

What a wonderful story about what your husband did. I am so impressed that there is a guy like that out there. (I have one but thought he was a one of a kind)....
You will love your new camera I'm sure.
Speaking from my experience in the past with Credit card debt, through the years of raising four boys....somehow it just all works out. We paid them all off a few years back when we had a small windfall of sorts... and there is such a relief.
Persevere and you'll find yourself there some day...you're still young and have a beautiful family and well it will work out .....
Appreciation and gratitude are the two attitudes I found that made everything fall into place. Once you think to use them daily in all ways, like blessing your debt and gratitude for the use of the cards and appreciation for the fact that money is flowing and you will rapidly pay them off and be debt free..these "attitudes" helped me free up from the debt. Unexpected surprises just started flowing in...
Bless it all, even the debt....
oh listen to me go on and on...
it's just that it worked...
I can already read the appreciation you have flowing in your life....so it's working.
Great camera! Better husband. I'm crying, and I already knew he was a great guy...except for that one time he got pissy when he was 8 and broke my key in the honda - except for then.
Wonderful seeing you guys this weekend. Enjoy the camera!
PS - he's kind of like his name sake - and don't worry about the credit cards - you're doing the right thing by starting now. YOu have plenty of time to get out of it - I have an amortization program that worked great for me (except of course I stopped using it...) Anyway, I'm glad you married Rob, honey - you're the best thing that ever happened to him, too.
A GREAT night! I have some AWESOME pics!!!
Your husband makes his mom and dad proud EVERYDAY.. LIke his great "wife" selection skill.
Enjoy that camera, EVERY DAY.
Love you
Well all I can say is, Only a Husband that is a PACKER fan would be so thoughtful and kind as to do such a nice thing for his lovely wife. What a guy.... (i mean he would have loved watching the games on that thing!) Enjoy that camera, and maybe you can repay him someday by bringing him here to Green Bay and taking him to a Packer game, that's priceless!! Enjoy your camera, its great!!
Julee in Green Bay :-)
